International Agreements
The Veneto Region has signed a number of international partnerships with States and territorial bodies within foreign States. Such partnerships can be formalised through Memoranda of Understanding or Agreements.
A Memorandum of Understanding is a document signed with a territorial body within a foreign State, in accordance with DPR 31st March 1994 “Guidelines regarding foreign affairs of Regions and Autonomous Provinces” and Law nr. 131/2003.
An Agreement is a document signed with a foreign State having internationally legal value, provided for by the Italian Constitution (article 117, paragraph 9) following the reform of Part V introduced in 2001 and implemented with Law nr. 131/2003.
