The Adriatic Ionian Euroregion

The Adriatic Ionian Euroregion (AIE) is an international association established on 30th June 2006 in Pula (Croatia) for the promotion of transnational and interregional cooperation between regions and local authorities of the Adriatic and Ionian coastline.

The general aims of the Adriatic Euroregion are the following:
- strengthening the stability in the Adriatic and Balkan area
- promoting sustainable development and economic and social cohesion among its members.

These objectives are pursued by promoting common initiatives in strategic sectors for the area, such as environmental protection, tourism, culture, fishing and productive activities, infrastructures and transport.

The Adriatic Ionian Euroregion’s main office is in Pula, while the Secretariat is in Campobasso, and it also has an office in Bruxelles.
The bodies of the AIE are the General Assembly, the Executive Committee, and the President. Moreover, Commissions have been created with the aim of developing common strategies and project proposals in the above strategic sectors.
