HYPER TRANSFER, ZAIA: “VENETO IS THE CRADLE OF A MOBILITY REVOLUTION. THE OPERATIONAL PHASE IS STARTING NOW WITH THE FIRST TEST TRACK BETWEEN PADUA AND VENICE”

Comunicato n° 937
(AVN) – Munich, 3rd June, 2025
“Imagine travelling from Milan to Venice in just 15 minutes, or from Berlin to Venice in a little over an hour – silently, sustainably, and with zero emissions. This is not a futuristic vision, but a concrete project born in Veneto: it is called Hyper Transfer, and today we presented it on the global stage at the 2025 edition of Transport Logistic in Munich. This is a revolutionary technology, strongly supported by the Veneto Region, and it is now entering its operational phase.”
With these words, the President of the Veneto Region, Luca Zaia, announced the launch of the implementation phase of one of Europe’s most ambitious and innovative infrastructure projects: an ultra-high-speed transport system based on magnetic levitation capsules traveling inside low-pressure tubes, drastically reducing travel times and environmental impact.
“Veneto is the cradle of this revolution,” Zaia emphasized. “It all started here with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on March 16, 2022, between the Veneto Region, the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, and Concessioni Autostradali Venete (CAV), in collaboration with Italferr (FS Group), the University of Padua, Webuild, and Leonardo. And it is here that the first experimental test track, approximately 10 kilometers long, will now be built between Padua and Venice – a key milestone that moves us from concept to full-scale field testing of the technologies involved.”
The feasibility study, validated by the University of Padua and Italferr (the engineering company of the Italian State Railways), has confirmed the viability of the project using existing or proven technologies that are ready for industrial application. The test track will assess all components, from capsules to safety systems, to energy management.
“Hyper Transfer is not just a race against time, but a model for sustainable mobility,” Zaia explained. “It reduces noise levels by up to 70 decibels, uses 60% less energy than an airplane, and can generate more energy than it consumes thanks to integrated photovoltaic panels along the route.”
“This is not an infrastructure for the few,” Zaia added, “but a technology that could become a new standard in other regions of Italy and abroad – including developing countries where the demand for modern infrastructure goes hand in hand with the urgent need for sustainability and resilience. Hyper Transfer was born in Veneto, but it speaks to the world.”
“With this project,” Zaia concluded, “Veneto reaffirms its role as a national and international laboratory for innovation, and as a benchmark for intelligent infrastructure development. We are ready to welcome stakeholders, investors, research institutions, and governments interested in collaborating or replicating the model. A new way of thinking about mobility begins here. The future runs through a tube – and it starts in Veneto.”
