The Observatory Venice Summer School, organised by the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies in collaboration with the European Commission, the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for Europe and the Veneto Region will be back on 24-30 July in Venice, Italy.
The theme of this year’s edition will be “Implementing innovation: how do we make best practice work?”.
Successful implementation of good practice in health care is not only crucial to ensuring equitable access to the care people need but is also the key to achieving long-term sustainability of European health systems.
Evidence suggests that current wasteful spending on health is much larger than projected increases in age-related health care expenditure. The Observatory Venice Summer School 2022 will focus on this challenge.
The six-day intensive course aims to bring together high-level experts and policy-makers to debate ideas and share experiences through group work with presentations, round tables and panel discussions. While it includes formal teaching with intensive academic courses, it has the practical experiences of participants at its core.
The course is aimed at high-level professionals working at Ministries of Health or health authorities at the national, regional, or local level, public or private payers, provider organisations, professional societies, patient organisations and others who are responsible for fostering and implementing innovations to transform health care provision.
Those involved in steering change processes and facilitating the uptake of innovations within health systems are encouraged to apply by 5 June.
